Best Kid-Friendly Family Resorts in Maldives
 1. The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands
A luxurious resort that prioritises the environment and marine conservationÂ
As parents, we want our kids to not only explore paradise but also develop a deeper appreciation for the environment. If you are planning a family trip in the Maldives, you will find that The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands offers an enriching experience beyond its stunning and luxurious appeal. The resort is proud to host the first Jean-Michel Cousteau´s Ambassadors of the Environment program in the Asia-Pacific region, wherein guests of all ages can enrich their stay by learning more about the natural wonders through a fun, active, inspirational outdoor education program. Also, all water activities at the resort are approved by their dedicated marine biologist, helping to ensure that the marine ecosystem is protected for the future generation. This is probably why snorkeling at the resort was one of the best experience of our lives.Â
At The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, a wide selection of water-based activities await. But if we ever had to choose one: you should definitely not miss out on their Coral Garden Snorkelling Experience. The vibrant coral gardens, colourful fish, and even the thrill of spotting sharks made it truly unforgettable. Our guide, Dzera, also played a huge part on why we really enjoyed the experience as she made us feel at ease and comfortable throughout our session. The Dhoni Sunset Dolphin Cruise is also great for much smaller kids as they can spot playful dolphins while in a luxury sail! Â
One of the best Kids Club in the world
If your kids are not a huge fan of the outdoors, the resort also features the Ritz Kids, which is probably one of the biggest Kids Club we have ever seen. From sports and arts and crafts to cooking classes and more, there is something to engage and inspire every young explorer. You can check out their weekly schedule if you want to know more about the activities they offer! Furthermore, the Kids Club boasts an outdoor playground complete with slides and a pool with jets, which are sure to be a hit for the little ones. Inside, the club features a futuristic design with cosy napping pods, a large play area, and even a dedicated space for video games.
Your kids will also love splashing in the beachfront pool (with complimentary sunscreen available!), playing on the beach, or biking around the vast resort. In case you get hungry, there are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants, both inside the resort and the neighbouring social hub, Fari Marina Village. There is a food truck in there too for more picky eaters!
For a lasting memory of your family’s time in the Maldives, be sure to take advantage of the resort’s complimentary photoshoot—a wonderful keepsake and one of the best souvenirs you can bring home.

Visiting an oceanarium will always be a core memory experience for the little ones. But what if you can see the beautiful marine world while also enjoying a succulent meal? Home to the award-winning SEA Restaurant, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas transports the whole family deeper into the marine world. The dining room offers 360-degree views of the Maldives’ crystal-clear, azure waters so you will literally be dining with the captivating marine species. If you are lucky, you might even get to see some turtles! Words are not enough to describe how amazing this experience would be, especially if you are bringing along your little ones. In fact, this restaurant is perfect for celebrating special occasions, just like how we did with our little Aaron’s birthday.Â
The underwater world that can be seen at the resort feels surreal as the resort is located in the stunning Baa Atoll, a prestigious UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The resort’s commitment to preserving the pristine marine environment makes it an extraordinary snorkelling destination where you can enjoy swimming amidst a kaleidoscope of colourful fish. Not only that, Baa Atoll is said to be one of the best places to spot friendly spinner dolphins and sea turtles.Â

Unforgettable experiences for the little adventurers
At the heart of the resort lies the Thiththi Boli Kids Club, a treasure trove of entertainment that will captivate the little ones and create lifelong memories. From bouncing on the Trampoline Park and shooting basketballs to conquering the rock climbing wall and splashing around in the water play area, there is no shortage of excitement. The kids can immerse themselves in a world of creativity with an abundance of toys, including LEGO blocks. For a truly unforgettable family experience, embark on a thrilling pirate adventure with your little ones, as you set sail to another island in search of hidden treasure. Our daughter, Ally, was just so happy during our stay at the resort and we can only imagine the sheer delight older kids would experience.
While the Thiththi Boli Kids Club ensures endless fun, the resort itself offers even more entertainment options for children. Our spacious Two Bedroom Family Beach Pool Villa provided direct access to the beach, allowing the little ones to effortlessly indulge in sandy adventures. Additionally, a private pool by the villa ensured hours of splashing and laughter. Our butler, Ifoo, still went above and beyond to make sure that our little ones are still entertained by giving us baby stuffed toys (on top of other resort gifts like bags and caps). It was the first time that we got so many gifts from just one resort, so we definitely have him to thank for making us feel like VIPs.

One of the most cherished experiences is the Sunset Dolphin Cruise, a must-try excursion for families with young children. Our daughter, Ally, was captivated by these beautiful creatures, gleefully exclaiming and even creating her own word – “tata” – to express her excitement whenever a dolphin appeared. 5. Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa
A safe space for our little onesÂ
Nestled on a stunning tropical island surrounded by lush greenery and turquoise waters, Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa is an idyllic getaway for the whole family. If you are travelling with the little ones, this resort is much more accessible compared to other family resorts in the area, as it can be easily reached with only a luxury speedboat. Travel time takes about 20 minutes only from the MalĂ© airport, and the boat ride is comfortable throughout, especially with the air-conditioning.Â
Once you arrive at the resort, expect to be welcomed with a plethora of family-friendly activities and amenities that make your stay truly memorable. The resort’s Kids Club is especially noteworthy and with both indoor and outdoor areas, your kids are sure to have the grandest time regardless of the weather. Inside, the spacious Club rooms are filled with a diverse range of new toys, including both English and Chinese options. But among all, what our little Ally especially loved was the ice cream maker. She spent so much time pretending to make ice cream and then serving us afterwards! Meanwhile, the outdoor play area was complete with a gigantic trampoline and a kiddie pool – a haven for kids, indeed. The resort’s renowned Amingiri Spa also offers a unique Young Zen programme wherein your little ones can also embark on age-appropriate journeys designed to nurture their holistic well-being.Â
Enjoy an amazing Kids Club experience at Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa
Dedicated healthy menu for the kids
When it comes to the food options, we are sure that you will not have a hard time getting your kids something to eat while staying at the resort. Aside from having eight dining destinations in total, Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa went above and beyond the typical Kids’ menu choices (which could be unhealthy at times) and truly prioritised providing healthy options like purees made from wholesome ingredients. We are impressed with the food’s quality, and they have one of the best baby food out of the many 5-star resorts we have been to.Â
If you are eating out with the whole family, we recommend going to the resort’s Habitat restaurant. Our breakfast and dinner experiences there have just been amazing – the food was top-notch (freshly grilled tiger prawns are the highlight), the staff was kind and accommodating, and the restaurant is situated right by the sea. And the best part is that you can savour the view more on the lounging nets suspended over the azure waters!Â
Exciting water activities for everyoneÂ
Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa is not just a safe space for the little ones, the resort also makes sure that the teens and adults are also entertained. They have a dedicated rooftop lounge just for teenagers. At Re: Fuel, the teens can recharge with some smoothies and snacks while lounging in a laid-back atmosphere.
Meanwhile, thrillseekers could indulge in a thrilling selection of water activities such as glass kayaking excursions (perfect for your IG-worthy shots!), snorkelling and paddleboarding adventures, and dolphin cruises. When it comes to indoor fun, the resort also has an Art Studio, driving simulator, and table tennis!Â

6. Anantara Dhigu Maldives ResortÂ
The ultimate adventure in both sea and land
Water activities take on a whole new level at Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, so if your kids love going on fun and unique adventures, then this is the best resort to bring them. In fact, this kid-friendly resort is known as one of the top surfing spots in the Maldives, thanks to its world-class waves that is perfect for surfers of all levels. It may just might be the perfect place for your kids to start surfing with the help of Tropicsurf, an Australian-based company renowned for its expert surfing instructors. If you can, request for a session with Julian Passard as our family had the best (and productive) time with him during our surfing sesh.
Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort offers an array of exciting water activities beyond surfing. Whether you are craving the thrill of jet skiing, flyboarding, parasailing, or seeking a more relaxed experience with sailing, paddleboarding, or windsurfing, there’s an unforgettable adventure for everyone. Among all, we highly recommend going for the Nurse Shark Snorkelling experience, an excursion that allows you to encounter these majestic creatures up close. Definitely a memorable experience for everyone!
If your kids are not a huge fan of the water, no worries – there are also plenty of opportunities for fun on land. The Dhoni Kids’ Club offers endless hours of play with both indoor and outdoor spaces. Another option is to join a fun cooking class where they will learn to create pizzas and sushis in paradise or settle in for a cosy movie screening by the beach under the stars. And of course, the beach is the best playground!Â
The best family bonding experiences
As a kid-friendly resort, there is so much you can do here with your entire family. Besides trying all the water activities, you can perhaps explore the resort through bicycles. However, if you prefer a more laidback vibe, you can opt to avail of the resort’s complimentary photoshoot session to capture your best memories in paradise.
If you want to truly bond with your little one, head over to Anantara Spa and avail of their signature Mommy & Me service. While mum (or dad) enjoys a soothing 60-minute massage, your little one will be treated to a nourishing chocolate face and body treatment, followed by a gentle massage. If you do not wish to go on a massage, there are also saunas and cold pools, which are perfect for unwinding.Â
For dining options, the restaurants at Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort provide simple yet tasty dishes for kids at all restaurants. You can go on a literal world tour with the variety of world-class restaurants within the resort, plus additional dining options from its sister resort, Anantara Veli, that you may access through a charming 2-minute pontoon ride.
