9. Luxury Ocean View Villa, The Oberoi Beach Resort, Bali
Located on the sophisticated and fashionable Seminyak beach, The Oberoi Beach Resort, Bali is guaranteed to bring you the peace and serenity you are looking for in a Bali getaway. Spread across fifteen acres of lush, breathtaking tropical gardens, this 5-star resort-hotel is home to some of Bali’s most stylish villas, complete with traditional thatched roofs, restaurants serving up the most delectable cuisines on the island, a vast, flat beach, and a whole lot more. What more, the incredible beach right outside The Oberoi becomes even more magical once the sun sets, making it a really lovely place to spend your evenings.
Most relaxing getaway in a traditional thatched Bali villa
Just recently, our family stayed in Villa 206, a Luxury Ocean View Villa with a private pool. It is one of the closest villas to the beach entrance and the resort’s temperature-controlled main pool. For a more Bali vibe, the villa is topped with a traditional thatched roof and comes complete with a very luxurious yet exotic sunken marble bath, offering views of a private, walled, tropical garden for the ultimate serenity. But if you really want to feel relaxed, head over to The Oberoi’s unique spas to try some of their signature spa treatments. I got a Balinese massage while Joce had a facial and head massage and the overall experience was just so incredible!
Meanwhile, the interior includes a harmonious fusion of natural colour palettes, traditional design and contemporary technologies. We really love how they maximised natural light in creating these villas, offering an authentic, relaxing ambience. The large canopied bed also looked very welcoming! Furthermore, they provide special pillows upon request – we got the medium firm supreme fibre comfort pillow, which was really comfortable when combined with the duck down pillow. Outside, a large terrace, a private pool and an alfresco dining pavilion provide ample opportunity to relax.
A glimpse of Bali’s culture
At The Oberoi, you will feel the warm hospitality of every Balinese. From the moment we arrived, all the hotel staff were incredible and genuine from the heart. Special thanks to Wulan who served us our afternoon tea; she even personally got our baby girl a bunny toy as a present! We also like how they wear traditional dresses, ensuring an impeccable Oberoi service.
What also sets this resort apart is its very own natural amphitheatre, where guests can enjoy Gamelan music and classical Balinese dance performances amidst the starry night sky and with the sound of crashing waves nearby. The show usually comes with a sumptuous candlelit dinner, but no worries if you ever missed out on the show since The Oberoi offers a total of 3 dining options to satisfy your hunger.
World-class cuisine served with breathtaking views
We had a 3-course dinner at Kura Kura restaurant, an open-air thatched pavilion overlooking lotus ponds. The restaurant’s vibe is utterly romantic, and guests may be even serenaded with traditional ‘Angklung’ music and a variety of Balinese musical troupes. The food was just as amazing – I had the seared beef tenderloin Harvey while Joce had the pan-seared Japanese Black cod. Both dishes were seared to perfection and so delicious that we finished our meal in no time! The chef also gave us 2 complimentary dishes on top of the actual courses, a foie grass creme brulee and pickled beetroot, which we also thoroughly enjoyed.
To end the date on a sweet note, we had the chocolate lava cake and tiramisu – the most perfect desserts for a couple with a sweet tooth like us! If you’d like to have more sweets, we highly suggest that you drop by the resort’s very charming Kayu Bar. They serve daily afternoon tea and coffee as well, not to mention the amazing tropical cocktails you can get at night! In the morning, we had our breakfast in the Frangipani Cafe, where we enjoyed both the food and the stunning ocean view. Special thanks to Muka and Mei, as they paid special attention to Baby Ally and got her avocados, porridge with boiled chicken, and toast which she loved.
Overall, we must say that The Oberoi Beach Resort, Bali is a perfect place for an idyllic and relaxing getaway! Especially the beach right outside The Oberoi, I would definitely stay there again just to admire the magical sunsets every evening.

10. Executive Room with direct pool lagoon access, Hilton Bali Resort
A tropical paradise for a family of travellers
Situated atop a 130-foot cliff in the southern part of upscale Nusa Dua, Hilton Bali Resort is everything that you envisioned paradise to be. The resort is also located on the much quieter side of Bali, so you will be far away from the buzz of the tourist attractions. During our stay at Hilton Bali Resort, we got connecting Executive Rooms with Direct Lagoon Pool Access, which was nice as we could head over to the main pool first thing in the morning. If you have little kids in tow, this is perfect for them since they always seem to cannot get enough of the water. The room was pretty spacious as well, and provided many luxurious comforts that made our stay truly memorable.
Our executive room also came with a private balcony, which was the best spot to just lounge around and watch people go by. You’d see families, couples, and all sorts of tourists enjoy the many premium amenities found inside the resort. Especially the huge pool complex! We really loved the fact that there were multiple pools and waterslides at Hilton; and we are pretty sure that your little ones will enjoy playing with sand (and build castles, too!) in the middle beach-like pool, while much older kids and adults can enjoy playing volleyball and basketball by the pool.
Myriad of activities to do while staying at the resort
Despite its serene location, you will never run out of things while staying at the resort. In addition to hanging out by the pool, you can sip a cocktail (or two!) at the resort’s beach bar, try out different water activities, relax at the spa, play table tennis, and so on. You can even hop on a camel and take a stroll at the beach, which was such a fun activity for kids and adults alike. Actually, we were pretty surprised when we tried that activity as we never thought that there were camels in Bali. Still, look at us in all smiles!
Furthermore, Hilton Bali Resort also ensures that your kids can still have fun while staying indoors. They have this amazing jungle-themed Kids’ Club, complete with a treehouse, trampoline, and a rock wall climbing area (with the walls dripping in vines) inside. It is really perfect for your little explorers!
Incredible beachfront dining experiences
What’s better than all these? For me, it is enjoying the beachfront view with delectable dishes! At Hilton Bali Resort, the food tastes so much better as the ambience elevates everything else. We especially loved dining at The Shores Restaurant & Bar, which was a Mediterranean-inspired and styled 3-story dining destination. The restaurant’s lowest level was al fresco, so we often had our breakfast there. There were a lot of choices for breakfast, including Indonesian cuisine, but of course, the best part was still the view. Definitely a great way to start your day!
We also got to experience having a BBQ night by the beach. There were free-flow prawns, clams, satay, beef, chicken, and a lot more good food. That was such a nice experience, and it is just a bonus that the place was beautifully set up. You can see that the staff at Hilton takes care of their guests well.
Overall, we must say that Hilton Bali Resort is the perfect place to stay with your family while staying in the tropical paradise of Bali. Both kids and adults alike will never run out of things to do in this massive resort – with the multiple pools, Kids’ club, private beach, and so on.

11. Conrad Ocean Suite, Conrad Bali
Exquisite beachfront location
Conrad Bali offers the ultimate tropical beach resort experience on the beautiful coast of Nusa Dua. It has everything you want for the complete Balinese getaway, from the pristine sandy beaches to the sparkling turquoise waters, and of course, the picturesque sights. Beyond all that, there are plenty of luxurious hotel suites and villas that promise the most relaxing stay. One of which is their Conrad Ocean Suite, which is perfect whether you are visiting the island on a honeymoon or a family vacation.
The best thing about staying at the Conrad Ocean Suite is having a captivating view of the ocean right outside your balcony. Imagine waking up to the sounds of the crashing waves and being gently caressed by the salty sea breeze each morning – it is pure magic! The balcony itself is a generous sanctuary, providing ample space to immerse yourself in the breathtaking ocean panorama. On the inside, the hotel suite indulges guests in exceptional space, comfort and privacy with a huge bedroom, a marbled bathroom, a separate living room and a dining area with a pantry. The bed was definitely the highlight as it was massive – probably Super King-sized! Our kids had loads of fun rolling, jumping and playing around all over it.
Our kiddos having a blast on our hotel suite’s huge bed
A family-friendly haven
If you are looking for a sign to visit Bali with your family, then this is it. At Conrad Bali, your little ones will not get bored for sure. The resort is huge, so there are plenty of places and activities to explore. There are multiple pools as well, which include a Beach Pool that has actual sand. Although there is a private beach right in front of the resort, your little ones can play more freely (and safely!) at the Beach Pool. However, if you are looking for a more quiet and serene ambience, the private pool at the Jiwa Spa would be a much better option.
On top of that, Conrad Bali takes family fun to a whole new level with its dedicated Kid’s Club. You can leave your kids there and have someone from the resort take care of them, but personally, we wanted to spend more time with them. Brace yourself for hours of laughter and excitement as your kids immerse themselves in an array of engaging activities such as masak masak (play-pretend cooking), racing toy cars, and toppling bowling pins. Indeed, the possibilities for endless entertainment are boundless at Conrad Bali.
Family time at Conrad Bali
Relax with authentic Japanese cuisine by the pool
When it comes to dining options, Conrad Bali also exceeds expectations. Indulge in authentic Indonesian cuisine served rijsttafel style at Suku, a beachfront al-fresco dining experience at Eight Degrees South, and stylish cocktails at Azure and East Lobby Lounge. Among all, our personal favourite is Rin Restaurant, because we got to enjoy contemporary Japanese cuisine (including an immersive Teppanyaki experience!) right by the poolside. We have also tried cooking using their Hot Stone and got to taste a really delectable beef tenderloin! The other must-tries at Rin are their Salmon Benedict, Bubur ayam, Ayam kampung cage-free poached egg bowl, and Tea eggs which surprisingly came unpeeled.

A place where time seems to slow down, this award-winning luxury resort is definitely one of the best places to reconnect with nature and relax and renew in utter tranquility. In fact, it was just recognised recently by Tripadvisor as one of the Top 10 Hotels in Asia this 2023! Viceroy Bali is also the only hotel resort in Ubud with its own helipad, so you can take a 15-min helicopter ride from Ngurah Rai International Airport straight to the resort, instead of a 1-hour car journey.
From the gorgeous infinity pool (perfect for IG shots!) overlooking the spectacular jungle ravine to the romantic villas offering absolute privacy, every detail of this tropical haven has been carefully assembled to give guests an extraordinary expression of world-class luxury. The resort is also really spacious and hilly, and they provide a golf buggy in case you need to go anywhere far.
Contemporary Balinese-style pool suites
For couples on a Bali honeymoon, Viceroy Bali offers plenty of pool suites for an intimate stay. Luxuriously and spectacularly spacious, the pool suites consist of a heated plunge pool, a semi-outdoor bathroom, beautifully blending Balinese-style indoor and outdoor living spaces, as well as a stunning jungle view that will surely not disappoint you. The pool suites are actually located right in the middle of the tropical surrounding, so the best spot to admire the breathtaking lush view is through one of the suites’ covered deck while lying on a luxurious daybed.
Beyond its luxurious amenities and beautiful location, what truly sets Viceroy Bali apart is the passionate service and attention to detail offered to every guest. The resort is actually family-owned and managed (with some of them present onsite daily!), so the intimate and friendly ambience was felt throughout the resort. In fact, it has over 170 staff for just 40 pool villas, so you can be really sure that all your needs are well taken care of. The lovely staff took good care of our Baby Ally during breakfast, providing her with plain porridge with boiled chicken, steamed broccoli and carrots, and avocadoes, which we really appreciated.
One of Bali’s pre-eminent dining destinations
As for the food options…where do I begin? Viceroy Bali offers Bali’s fine dining at its best, thanks to the incredible Apéritif Restaurant. More than just the delish meals, the restaurant boasts a stunning 1920s colonial-style interior that makes the best photos, complete with a lovely wine cellar. We had the 6-course degustation menu there, which was quite the gastronomic adventure for our tastebuds. We started the course with a cocktail/mocktail experience, wherein the drinks were mixed right in front of us – the Nightshade Negroni and Apero Cosmo were so good!
For the main dishes, our favourites were the Chawanmushi and Tokusen Wagyu Carpaccio (this was quite a surprise since I don’t really fancy Carpaccio), which arrived at our table via trolleys. Do also give their Venison Wellington a shot, as I believe that it can hold its ground against Gordon Ramsay’s renowned Beef Wellington. The restaurant staff even offered me 10 steak knives to choose from – talk about fine dining, indeed! For the last course, we were brought to the bar where another trolley of desserts was presented to us. The bar was amazing and offers an extensive variety of top-quality cocktails to choose from. There was also an outdoor terrace beyond the bar that offers impressive views of Mt. Agung on a clear day.
Overall, the whole fine dining experience was enjoyable, with loads of photo opportunities! Breakfast at Cascades Restaurant was also wonderful. A lovely spread of food combined with the same wonderful valley view? It’s hard to say no! We highly recommend that you try the Balinese Benedict, a good twist on the classic Eggs Benedict with Balinese corn fritter and dried beef. Belgian waffles were thin, crispy, and delicious, too!

13. Family Suite, Padma Resort Ubud
Expansive suites with beautiful valley views
Nestled within an unspoiled river valley and overlooking the enchanting forests of Payangan, the idyllic Padma Resort Ubud is a tropical hideaway that is perfect to refresh your mind and body. Expansive and tranquil, this luxurious 149-room resort features all the five-star amenities and facilities one would expect from the renowned Padma hospitality brand, including breathtaking views from every suite, a first-class spa, and so on. In fact, it has recently garnered many prestigious accolades in the TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Awards 2022, including being listed as #9 in the Top 25 Best Resorts in the World. This resort is actually really spacious, with multiple event venues right inside, making it a great place to hold a wedding, be it intimate or grand.
On our recent stay there, they hosted us in a Family Suite, which is the perfect accommodation for families and small groups looking for an extravagant vacation. The pinnacle of Padma-inspired luxury, the suite offers an oversized balcony where you can watch a mesmerising Bali sunset, an open-air Jacuzzi bathtub, a large King-sized bed with high-quality linens and special pillows (for different types of sleepers), custom-crafted furnishings and artworks, an en-suite bathroom and more. We especially loved the bathroom’s walk-in rain showers with a waterfall feature. It actually feels like you are bathing under a real waterfall!
Wide array of activities for guests of all ages
Padma Resort Ubud also boasts a 3-hectare Agroforestry Garden, filled with rare and unique plants, herbs, stunning flowers and local fruits. Guests may actually take a stroll here to get a breather, then afterwards, head over to the nearby animal garden (with all sorts of friendly animals, including otters!), fishing lagoon and miniature rice fields to take some lovely photos. You can also feed the animals in the garden, so it is a great way to bond with the kids if ever you bring them on your trip. Other kid-friendly amenities in the resort include a dynamic Kids Club and a shallow pool with a waterfall.
Furthermore, Padma Resort Ubud also offers fun activities that are designed especially to connect guests with nature and promote wellness, which include yoga at Bamboo Nest, jogging on a 3.4km track, getting signature treatments from a unique, cave-like spa, cycling, archery, golf, and so much more. If we ever had to choose our favourite, though, it would be archery, as this was something that we do not get to do much back in Singapore. Our trainer was so good and we definitely enjoyed shooting all those arrows while on the field!
Signature decadent dining by the pool
For guests looking to relax, Padma Resort Ubud also has an awe-inspiring 89-metre heated infinity pool that is probably the biggest in the regions near Ubud. In the daytime, this huge pool becomes a social hub for all guests, letting them enjoy the awe-inspiring views of the valley below while also getting a heavy dose of refreshing mountain air. We actually loved to dine by the pool when we stayed at the resort since the view there was just phenomenal.
With a long list of beautifully presented dishes from all over the world, it can be really overwhelming to choose what to eat for lunch or dinner. Make sure that you do not miss out on their very delicious Thai Green Curry Chicken, which tasted so great that we had it 3 times! We do not usually eat aubergine, but it was added so perfectly to the dish that we just could not resist. For breakfast, we recommend the Sunny Avocado, Pisang Goreng, and the plain and chocolate croissants from the buffet spread.

14. The Lodge, Capella Ubud
Imagine glamping, but make it more luxurious. Nestled in the heart of lush green forests, Capella Ubud is a refined camp area that’s perfect for travellers looking to have a unique, tranquil experience amidst Bali’s untouched natural surroundings. Within the camp are 21 one-bedroom tents, all with private salt-water pools, indoor and outdoor bathrooms. There are also large decks with day beds overlooking either rice fields or the surrounding rainforest. And although the hotel seems to be in the middle of nowhere, the eclectic Balinese-styled tents offer modern comforts such as air-conditioning and high-speed WiFi. Free bikes are provided for the resort’s guests, so you can also roam the area on your own.
If you are spending the holiday with the entire family, there is also a two-bedroom Lodge for you to consider. The Lodge combines exotic oriental Chinese décor with the impressive unobstructed, lush green Keliki valley view. Really perfect for a lavish vacation!
For dining options, guests can head over to Mads Lange or Api Jiwa for a delectable Asian fare. Inspired by the spirit of discovery, these restaurants add an unexpected twist to traditional Asian flavours, influenced by the jungle setting and local heritage. Alternatively, guests can enjoy camp snacks, nostalgic movies, and live storytelling at Capella’s very own Camp Fire.

15. Family Suite, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan
A riverside sanctuary right in the middle of Bali’s cultural heart, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan is like a whole new world. Before going to the actual hotel, guests need to pass a scenic suspended bridge atop lush verdant trees and the Ayung River. It already sounds so breathtaking! Also, the hotel’s rice-bowl architecture itself seamlessly blends with its surrounding scenery. At the same time, very fitting to Bali’s rice-farming culture.
Here at Four Seasons, locally inspired experiences are gold. For instance, guests can actually help rice farmers plant in Bali’s pure emerald green fields. You may also head on to the sacred river spa for cleansing and relaxing rituals drawn over the water’s energy and ancient Bali. Then, cap off an activity-filled morning with a traditional farmer’s lunch by the river.
This resort boasts expansive contemporary-Bali styled suites and villas, which are more than just perfect for family vacations or romantic couple retreats. The Family Suite is really great if you are in Bali with your little ones in tow, especially with its children’s room, ample living space, large televisions, proximity to kid-friendly amenities, and mesmerising views of the Ayung River valley.

And with a three-tier cascading infinity pool over a private beach, basically, you get the best of every world here at Amankila.
Moreover, the hotel suites are elevated on stilts amid hilltops to maximise the sea and hillside views. They are actually fashioned as Balinese beach houses! But among the many options, we especially love the Amankila Suite, a 660- square metre two-sized bedroom equipped with a large outdoor terrace, an aquamarine-tiled pool, canopied king-sized beds, sun lounges, a coffee machine, plus a private butler service. Overall, this suite is ideal for families seeking coastal seclusion.
