Perfect for couples embarking on a honeymoon in Bangkok, the Grand Premium King Room sets the stage for romance. As a guest at one of Conrad Bangkok’s luxury hotel suites, you are granted complimentary access to this exclusive haven above the cityscape. Picture this: you are sipping on your favourite cocktail, nibbling on delicious hors d’oeuvres (the burrata is an absolute must-try!), all while gazing out at the twinkling lights of Bangkok as the sun sets. Trust us, it is a scene straight out of a dream! Their cocktail selection was pretty impressive as well, and we particularly enjoyed the Negroni and Rudolf.

High level of care

You may also have breakfast at this Executive Lounge, which is perfect if you wish for a more intimate breakfast experience. The only downside is that the breakfast selection is a bit limited, hence we prefer having our meals at the main breakfast buffet, which offers Continental, Indian, Chinese, Thai, and Japanese options, alongside a plentiful selection of fruits, including jackfruit, passion fruit, the sweetest watermelon, and the usual favourites like apples and oranges. Conrad Bangkok prides itself on ensuring that guests are well looked after, beginning with the first meal of the day.

It is not just the dining experience that distinguishes Conrad Bangkok. The dedication to impeccable service extends to every aspect of the guest experience. The turndown service is a prime example of this commitment, with attentive staff tending to every detail to ensure guests’ utmost comfort and relaxation. From adjusting the blinds to fluffing pillows and neatly arranging slippers at the foot of the bed, no detail is overlooked. Moreover, thoughtful surprises abound, such as delightful platters of chocolates and macarons awaiting guests after a day of exploration in the city’s bustling streets, or complimentary bath salts inviting guests to unwind in the luxurious tubs of their suites. Soaring above the streets of the Watthana district, this luxury boutique hotel offers incredible comfort with their exquisitely appointed suites, complete with a full range of personal services and amenities. What’s unique about 137 Pillar Suites is how their hotel suites are named after the illustrious periods in Thai royal history  – Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, Thonburi, and Rattanakosin. All are impeccably furnished (and with expansive views of the city), but if you plan on staying for a much longer period, you can opt to book their serviced apartments instead.

We especially loved staying at their Executive Two Bedroom Residence – it was just perfect for our family and helpers. It felt like we never left home as our hotel suite came with a washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, huge fridge and freezer compartment, and cooking stove with cooking utensils. We also liked how the toilet seat was heated and had a bidet, which added a lot to the comfort. If you do not feel like cooking, no worries as they serve delicious breakfast in Bangkok Trading Post located next to the hotel’s lobby. Their breakfast selections change every few days, but if available, we highly recommend that you order their Stir Fried Noodles (my favourite!) and Eggs Benedict. You can also order a Thai Iced Tea to go with your meal. Swear, you will know why it is a Thai favourite once you try it!

Iconic infinity-edge pool by the rooftop

As much as we loved hanging around in our hotel suite (the beds were incredibly comfy), the main highlight of our stay would still probably be the infinity-edge pool located on the hotel’s rooftop exclusively for suite guests. 137 Pillar Suites & Residences Bangkok is situated on the uppermost floors of a towering skyscraper in Bangkok, so from the rooftop, you have the most perfect 360-degree view of the city. The view is quite breathtaking so be sure to capture lots of IG-worthy shots! We had a great time just relaxing by the pool, and the best part is that it is open 24/7, so you can enjoy both daytime and nighttime views of the Bangkok city skyline.

As expected, our children particularly loved splashing around in the pool. There were also two separate jacuzzis – one hot and one cold. The warm one was perfect for our little kids to help them better not catch a cold. It gets chilly on the rooftop so the jacuzzi was a great way to warm us up too.

Overall great service

137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok offers numerous luxurious amenities, including the Nitra Serenity Centre for indulgent spa treatments, a well-equipped gym, and a herb garden. Additionally, the hotel also offers a free London cab shuttle to the nearest mall – EmQuartier – so if you are up for some high-end shopping, just call the concierge and they will immediately arrange a trip for you. It was very convenient! 

We felt really pampered by the hotel’s staff, even when we first arrived. The welcome snacks they provided us were delicious, especially the pineapple tart and the adorable elephant-shaped snack in the middle of the box (see photo below). Speaking of elephants, we love how 137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok encourage guests to support the Elephant Nature Park, an ethical elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai. If you can, please show your support as every donation contributes a lot to elephant welfare. Upon arrival, they will give you a little donation form. And while we did not expect it, we were happy when the hotel staff gifted us with two super cute elephant plushies just for donating! It was such a lovely surprise for our little ones.

For those seeking the most luxurious stay, we recommend booking their Presidential Suite. Located on the 23rd floor, this opulent abode provides unparalleled comfort. Not to mention the spectacular view of the Chao Phraya River below!

Le Méridien Bangkok strives to provide all guests with the very best experience. One of our favourites from our stay was the extensive pillow menu. Yes, other 5-star hotels provide them as well, but most of them usually do not have larger pillows. Among their pillows, we highly recommend that you get their extremely comfortable body pillow to hug as a bolster. This made our bed feel more like the one we have at home! Furthermore, we appreciate how the staff always went out of their way to ensure that we have a good stay. They even provided our little ones with baby amenities (baby cot, baby bathtub, high chair, etc.) to make sure that they feel just as welcomed and comfortable as us.

Exclusive Club Lounge access for an impressive Bangkok skyline view 

Booking the Presidential Suite also means that you will have access to Le Méridien Bangkok’s exclusive Le Méridien Club Lounge. Located on the hotel’s 24th floor, this also means that you will get to indulge in Afternoon Tea and Creative Hour while taking in the stunning views of Bangkok. With the wide variety of refreshments available and the really lovely view, the Le Méridien Club 

Lounge is such a perfect place to bond with your loved ones. 

Afternoon Refreshment at 2 to 4 pm had coffee + tea of course, as well as snacks, sandwiches, cookies, fruits, and coffee. Interestingly, they also serve up instant noodles for afternoon tea, which is a novel concept for us. Meanwhile, Creative Hour from 6 to 8 pm had free-flowing cocktails and light snack. There are five cocktails and two mocktails to choose from, but we highly recommend trying the Thai Mojito, which has a unique and pretty interesting flavour. Also, you won’t find this drink very often. Do also get their delicious Shrimp Spring Roll and decadent Salmon Sashimi to match your drinks!

Creative Hour finds – must try Thai Mojito!

If you have Club Lounge access, then that also means that you have two choices for breakfast. You can either opt for the International Breakfast served on the 2nd floor at Latest Recipe or the European Continental Breakfast on the Club Lounge 24th floor. We opted for the former because of the bigger variety and it did not disappoint. The egg station was particularly the highlight, with the must-try dish being the Kai Koen Tom Yum Goong – scrambled eggs with shrimp and tom yum sauce. We also loved the incredibly delicious Japanese Curry, as well as the extensive selection of fruits and bite-sized bread options.

Range of luxurious amenities 

For lunch and dinner, you may savour global flavours from Le Méridien Bangkok’s array of upscale signature restaurants. Whether you fancy casual dining at a poolside bar, beer and BBQ for dinner, or a drink (or two) at a mid-century-inspired bar, the hotel has got you covered. Besides indulging in a gastronomic adventure, pamper yourself with a day of wellness at Le Méridien Bangkok. The hotel’s entire 6th floor is dedicated to lifestyle enhancement. It also includes the outdoor pool, which is a great place to relax and unwind. You will also have a nice view of the Bangkok city skyline from up there.

We highly recommend experiencing the rich traditions of European spas at SPA by Le Méridien and letting their experts pamper you with holistic treatments. You may also try bathing in a traditional Japanese Onsen, filled with water rich in specially selected high-quality health-giving minerals imported from Japan. And if you are a fitness buff, you will surely love the hotel’s huge gym complete with state-of-the-art equipment!

All in all, we had such a pleasant stay at Le Méridien Bangkok. The service was really warm and professional, and you can see that they genuinely want to provide every guest with the very best experience. In light of this, we highly recommend this 5-star hotel if ever you are looking for a luxurious stay in Bangkok.

We also love that they are home to one of the city’s most luxurious accommodations! Their hotel rooms are spacious and modern with uber-comfortable beds and plenty of natural light. Many even have balconies overlooking either the river or city streets below!
