Home Renovation Websites in Singapore for Inspiration & Free Quotes
1. Qanvast
Let me kickstart start our list with the household name that you are all familiar with – Qanvast. Playing the role of dream-home matchmaker, based on your budget and style requirements, they match you to suitable interior designers. I really enjoy browsing on Qanvast, for they have plenty of inspiring articles, lengthy customer reviews and well-taken photos of their projects. Searching for an interior designer on their site is easy, for they list their reviews and projects for your reference. I find their renovation calculator particularly useful and detailed.
We also attended the Qanvast road show last year to meet up with several interior designers at one shot, which was quite useful. Stay tuned to their events here.
Qanvast also offers its users these perks:
- $50,000 guarantee: Knowing that the number one fear of homeowners is getting scammed by untrustworthy interior designers or contractors, Qanvast has a $50,000 guarantee that you can opt-in for when you engage their recommended IDs. The guarantee keeps you safe from the unlikely event when the engaged firm becomes insolvent.
- Free Voucher Kit: After you engage their recommended ID, you get free vouchers giving you discounts off furniture, electronics, appliances and more.

2. HomeRenoGuru
HomeRenoGuru prides themselves on their matching service, stating “all firms recommended by HomeRenoGuru meet stringent criteria that includes industry accreditation, minimum annual sales turnover and years in business, and positive customer reviews.” By using their free service, you stand a chance to win a free home renovation up to $30,000*!
Their articles and videos featuring local homes makes it a good source of inspiration. My favourite function on their site is you are able to view projects by budget (projects under $30,000), by theme (Scandinavian designs), and by home-type (HDB 4-Room), make it very easy to browse. They also have a renovation calculator for you to estimate the cost of your home renovation.

Financing your home renovation
The average cost of home renovation in Singapore is about $50,000 – $60,000 for a BTO 4-room HDB flat. The cost will vary depending on how extensive the works you require, and the choice of materials you use.
To finance your home renovation, you can take up either a renovation loan or a personal loan. I suggest to take up a renovation loan as the interest rate (generally less than 5%) is lower as compared to personal loans (6-7%). However, it is likely you are required to show proof of ownership when applying for the renovation loan. Do note that the money from a renovation loan goes direct to your interior designer or contractor, so you can’t use it for your furniture or appliance shopping.
Our friends at Singsaver have compiled the best renovation loans and personal loans for you to check out.
