As soon as we checked in, we were left in awe of the breathtaking Uluwatu scenery. Our arrival at the resort was met with an astounding view that we were able to fully appreciate while enjoying afternoon tea at the R Bar in the lobby. It was such a great experience having coffee and treats with our friends against the beautiful backdrop of Uluwatu. The hip and stylish vibe of the R Bar also added to the overall delightful experience. 

As the night falls, the atmosphere of the R Bar transforms into a more romantic setting. The clear blue skies become a dark canvas filled with twinkling stars. Afternoon tea becomes inventive cocktails, courtesy of Renaissance Bali Uluwatu’s talented team of mixologists. Do try unique cocktails such as the Ulu Sunset (inspired by Bali’s melancholic hues around dusk) and Apple Bliss if you are into tropical flavours. You may even order some light bites to go along with your cocktails!

3. Take in mesmerising ocean views from the balcony of your luxurious hotel suite

4. Unwind in an expansive infinity pool overlooking the ocean

Being situated in Uluwatu, you can only expect that the Renaissance Bali Uluwatu will have its very own expansive infinity pool. This is probably the resort’s main highlight as it offered sweeping views of the forest and ocean against the backdrop of clear blue skies. Our entire team of 20 pax thoroughly enjoyed spending time by the pool, and we practically spent every moment of our three-night stay at the Renaissance lounging by the infinity pool. The pool was surrounded by a sun deck, complete with plenty of rattan loungers to relax comfortably and soak the sun in. It can get quite hot, so be sure to grab a refreshing cocktail from the Pool Bar to enjoy while lounging around. They have a 1 for 1 cocktails during happy hour so do watch out for that! 

If you are travelling with kids, you will be pleased to know that the pool also features a large shallow area where our little ones can safely frolick around. Our kids, Ally and Aaron, absolutely loved spending time in the pool!

For those who prefer quieter private time, you can also go to the Jungle Pool, a smaller pool further away from the crowd. With a view of the lush green hills on one side and the distant coastline on the other, it is the perfect spot to unwind by the water. Additionally, there are sun loungers surrounding the pool for those who want to catch up on their reading while enjoying the serene ambience.

5. Play to your heart’s content 

Of course, the stunning pool is not all that there is at the Renaissance Bali Uluwatu. In fact, we had such a lovely time trying out so many things inside the resort! As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with fresh coconuts and a note from the manager wishing that we had a fantastic time during our stay. And true enough, we had the grandest time! 

At Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa, we got to play to our heart’s content (yes, adults can play too!). Water polo was incredibly fun, especially since we got to play amongst ourselves. The staff helped to organise a water polo against other guests as well, which was also fun as we got to meet new people. There were also darts, ping pong, card games, and many many more activities that brought out the inner child in us! With all these extras, we must say that the Renaissance is a great place to stay if you are travelling with a large group. They really make sure that you will not get bored throughout your stay. 

6. Find your inner artist at Clay Craft Pottery Studio 

Once all the rush from the outdoor activities has settled down, you can then have an art session 

at Clay Craft Pottery Studio – the resort’s very own clay studio. Our team had a blast taking pottery classes and creating custom bowls, cups, and more which we hope would last for many years to come. We have been to many hotels and resorts in Bali, and this experience is definitely unique to the Renaissance Bali Uluwatu. Not to mention that the staff from the clay studio was really lovely too! 

7. Delight your palate with authentic Balinese cuisine 

Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa not only offers bars but also features a range of specialty restaurants to cater to your taste buds. There is Clay Craft (yes – the resort’s art studio doubles as a restaurant too!) for international dishes, but what we especially recommend is the food at Double Ikat. Delight your palate with authentic Indonesian cuisine; their Babi Guling, Ikan Bakar, Sate Sampi Lalah Manis are absolute must-tries! For dinner, Marriott members have a 15% discount, so be sure to sign up for that. 

Furthermore, breakfast at the resort boasts an extensive spread of dishes. We particularly loved the local Indonesian dishes, especially Daal with Roti.

8. Indulge in a day of beachside bliss at Roosterfish Beach Club

It will not be a complete Bali experience if you have not visited at least one beach club. Fortunately, there is a free shuttle from the resort to one of the best beach clubs in Bali – the Roosterfish Beach Club. Located at Pandawa Beach, Roosterfish Beach Club guarantees a fun day under the sun for guests of all ages. And since the beach club is also owned by the Renaissance Bali Uluwatu, you can only expect that their food, drinks and overall service would also be amazing.
