Where to Stay in Seminyak Bali
Katamama Suites at Desa Potato Head
Katamama Suites is the sibling to the famous beach club in Seminyak, Potato Head. With its striking red brick exteriors which are hand-pressed Balinese bricks that were traditionally used for the island’s holy temples and inspired architecture of Indonesian creative, Andra Matin, blending traditional elements with modern design ethics.Photo from Katamama
We loved our stay at Katamama, the suite we stayed in was small but tasteful. It was a nice surprise that we were able to check in and out of the hotel inside our suite. When we first came in, a bartender went to the suite and made us a mojito welcome drink! The food in both Ijen and Kaum were fantastic too!

1. Spend a day or two at Potato Head Beach Club
Spend a day or two at Potato Head Beach Club and lounge at the beachfront or the infinity pool that are littered with beanbags and sun loungers. A perfect spot if you want to just laze around in the sun and enjoy great food, entertainment, and the beach. As guests of the Katamama, get priority reservations for the beachfront cabanas for a great view of the sunset. Otherwise, you must get there by 10:00 a.m because these get booked quickly.

2. Have a cup of coffee perfected to your liking at the Revolver Espresso
Named after the Beatles album, Revolver Espresso is the perfect mixture of Melbourne’s coffee scene and Bali’s relaxed but grungy, urban vibe. The coffee and fresh food offerings are what established them as one of the most popular coffee shops on the island. We recommend taking home a few bottles of their cold brew if you can or even get them to deliver your coffee to your villa, hotel, or office via their quirky café called Baby Revs.Photo from Revolver Espresso
Revolver Espresso turns into a speakeasy bar at night where you can get your pregame on before heading to another stop or it can be your last stop for a night cap.
3. Eat lunch at Clean Canteen for any type of diet and eating habit
Clean Canteen has it out for your taste buds, whether you eat meat, are vegetarian, or a gluten-free vegan, they have everything you are looking for. It is Bali’s organic breakfast and street food restaurant that celebrates the evolving flavors of Asian and Western street food without giving any harm to the environment.
We tried the Tuna Poke bowl, raw chocolates for dessert and the dragon fruit smoothie and it was great!
4. Feel the love and be inspired at Nyaman Gallery
An intimate art space that features the diversity of Indonesian and international artists, the Nyaman Gallery shares artworks of these artists to the world, making them see that the world can be seen differently and personalized in the most intimate levels by each person.
Get yourselves pieces of art from both local and international artists and shop the wearable art section from the Nyaman Boutique as a memento of your honeymoon escapade.

5. Book a sustainable dinner at Ijen
Ijen is a zero-waste restaurant inside and out, from turning plastics into building bricks for the restaurant, green scraps that are fed to the local livestock, and even fish scales are made into ingredients for the rice flour crackers.
A part of an open-air amphitheater in the Potato Head Beach Club, you guys should try the grilled fish and grilled bananas – absolutely divine! Ijen is known to serve the best and freshest seafood with every catch line caught.

6. Immerse in local culture and visit popular tourist attractions around Seminyak Bali
Tanah Lot
Tanah Lot Temple is said to be the embodiment of romance in Seminyak Bali. Your heart will be full of admiration at the image of the temple on top of a massive rock facing the open ocean, hearing the crashing waves, and the beautiful changing colors of the sky from dawn till morning or from dusk to nighttime. One of the most photographed and popular sea temples in Seminyak Bali, the area is full of art shops that offer local handicrafts and signature local products when you visit during the day.
Since Tanah Lot Temple is a very busy tourist spot and a bit busy during the late afternoons, we opted to go in the morning, around 7:30 a.m to avoid the crowds and it proved to be a delight. The view was beyond amazing with the sun having just risen, just us, the ocean, gardens, and temples. It was really a paradise on earth.

Location: Beraban, Kediri, Tabanan Regency, Bali 82121, Indonesia
Banyumala Twin Waterfalls
One of the most beautiful but lesser known attractions in Seminyak Bali, the Banyumala Twin Waterfalls are two waterfalls separated only by the rocks holding them together with a big swimming hole at the bottom. An ideal place for jumping in and getting refreshed after the trek with plenty of space to enjoy the crystal-clear waters.
Just a reminder though, it’s best to go during the summer or sunny days since the trail can get slippery when it is rainy.

Pura Ulun Danu Beratan
Seminyak Bali’s famous water temple, Pura Ulun Danu Beratan was built for the worship of the main Hindu trinity, Brama-Vishnu-Shiva, and the lake goddess, Dewi Danu. The temple is home to an artifact, a sarcophagus and stone tablet, making people believe that it was a holy site before creating the temple.
The temple floats on the lake, making it one of the most iconic sanctuaries along with Uluwatu and Tanah Lot. Make sure you plan your visit to Para Ulun Danu Beratan since it doesn’t always float. It depends on the tide and the weather as rainy days result in little visibility and a lot of fog.

Taman Ayun Temple
Taman Ayun Temple is one of six royal temples in Bali, which makes it an important place historically and spiritually. The family temple of the Mengawi empire is surrounded by an elegant moat and is a nice place to wander around. The serenity of the place is like being enveloped in a calm feeling.

7. Enjoy a great night and go to the colorfully quirky Motel Mexicola
Motel Mexicola is a colorful, quirky Mexican bar and restaurant among the coco palms and beautiful waves of Seminyak Bali. The resto-bar hosts regular house parties with live Latin music to go with the overall ambiance of the place. They serve the best dragon fruit margarita and tacos which are our personal favorites when we went there. There is also an upstairs area where you can sit back and enjoy the courtyard view.
8. Make a reservation at The Trans Resort Bali
Another choice for your honeymoon stay in Seminyak Bali, The Trans Resort Bali is a luxurious and comfortable place to spend your time together. There are two tubs inside the room, one is a hot tub inside the bedroom and one jacuzzi by the balcony. We actually enjoyed these tubs the most because it provided as some relaxation after a long day touring outside.
Located in the heart of Seminyak, the resort is near popular restaurants and a great base to go restaurant hopping including Warung Babi Guling Pak Malen for Bali’s amazing suckling pig, Wabi Sabi by KZU for authentic Japanese dishes and the best ribs in Bali, Warung Bunana for the roti canai and curry, and Mama San Bali for different Asian cuisine.

Warung Bunana specializes in roti canai or flatbread in both sweet and savory versions. They serve an assortment of roti with delectable fillings such as cheese, garlic, onion, and even fish.
