Inside the suite was luxuriously comfortable. The open-plan design fills the suite with natural light, complemented by a comfortable King bed (with an extensive Pillow menu!), a spacious balcony, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom. And when we arrived, the hotel staff went above and beyond by providing us with a welcome message with our family photo printed on it! This was such a luxurious touch on our already luxurious hotel suite.

Meaning ‘white cloud’ in Chinese Mandarin, the name Bai Yun perfectly captures the essence of the hot pot adventure within the restaurant. As the pot generates heat, the steam rises, resembling ethereal white clouds in the air. Elevating the experience, a tempting array of homemade dim sum is available, ensuring a taste sensation that lingers on the palate and beckons diners for more. Not only were all the hotpot ingredients fresh, but a standout was the visually stunning presentation of beef hanging from chopsticks adorned with dry ice – really delicious!  We all had our individual hotpots for better hygiene too. 

The Apurva Kempinski Bali also has its signature Japanese restaurant, Izakaya by OKU, inspired by the award-winning OKU Japanese Restaurant Jakarta. With a focus on showcasing the best of its creations in a dynamic and convivial atmosphere, the restaurant offers a bistro-chic setting and an open-kitchen dining experience, encouraging interaction between guests and chefs for deeper enjoyment. The meticulously crafted dishes feature the finest ingredients, employing the latest composition techniques to present a truly tasteful and artistic masterpiece on each plate.

This way, you get to try different types of cuisine every morning. Pala Restaurant is the biggest place for breakfast, set in the midst of a long pool within the main gardens, It features live cooking stations with an extensive array of local and international cuisines. If you prefer to savour breakfast by the beach, there is the Reef Beach Club. However, our personal favourite is the Lv 10 Cliff Lounge, where we indulged in delectable à la carte dishes such as lobster omelette, roast duck, and eggs benedict with smoked salmon Super yum!

9. Stay in one of Bali’s most family-friendly hotels

When it comes to travelling with my whole family, finding a truly family-friendly hotel is a top priority, and The Apurva Kempinski Bali goes above and beyond expectations. Beyond the multiple pools, which are a definite hit with the little ones, the hotel features a Kids’ Club that guarantees entertainment for the youngsters. With two expansive levels, it is a spacious and fun haven for kids, complete with a playground offering a myriad of activities. A highlight is the daily Fantasea activity, where children aged 4-12 can enjoy a complimentary visit to the mesmerising underwater Koral Restaurant, observing fishes, sharks, and Eagle rays. Ally and I had tons of fun there watching the fishes (and even baby sharks!) swim around. 

And of course, having the beach right in front of the hotel is always a plus, as little kids always love hanging out by the sea and sand.
